PETER A. FOYO
President
Nextel de Mexico
Peter Foyo is the President of Nextel de Mexico S. A. de C. V., a subsidiary of NII Holdings, Inc., leading the country’s operations since August 1998. Under Foyo’s leadership Nextel Mexico is an engine of growth and profitability for NII with a client base of over 1.8 million at the end of June 2007. As a result of its performance, Nextel Mexico has been recognized as Mobile Operator of the Year in Latin America by Pyramid Research, as one of the Top 10 operators in Latin America by Frecuencia magazine, and for two consecutive years it was named one of the 50 Most Socially Responsible Companies in the country by Mundo Ejecutivo magazine.
Previously, Foyo worked at Alestra as Strategic Corporate Director, and Director of Wireless Planning and Implementation–PCS/WLL. Prior to that he was director of AT&T Argentina, where he was responsible for the company’s administration and operations in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. He also participated as a member of the Board of Directors of the Compañia de Telefonos del Interior, representing AT&T. In Argentina, he was in charge of the multinational technical and mobile personnel who established a national cellular network.
Foyo studied International Business, Economics, Military Science and Engineering at Benedictine University and Wheaton College in Illinois.
He currently resides in Mexico City.
