MIGUEL RIVERA
President
Nextel Peru
Miguel Rivera was appointed President of Nextel Peru in January 2000. Under his leadership, Nextel Peru delivers solid results. In 2006, the company extended its footprint into key markets, including Arequipa, Tumbes, Moquegua, Tacna, Cusco and Puno.
Rivera has a vast experience in top management for the Peruvian and international markets. Prior to joining Nextel, he was the General Manager of the Lima Stock Exchange. Previously, he served as General Manager of IBM's Latin American manufacturing industry based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and as IBM's President in Bolivia, Dominican Republic and Colombia. He has also held the positions of director for the American Chamber of Commerce, Cámara Colombiana de Informática y Telecomunicaciones (Colombian Chamber of Information and Telecommunication Systems), SIGMA, Asociación Nacional de Industriales de Bogotá (National Industrialists' Association of Bogotá), and is presently a member of the Board of Director of ANDA (National Association of Advertisers), IPAE, Peru 2021, and other institutions.
He holds a degree in Economic Engineering from one of the most prestigious Peruvian universities, Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, as well as several diplomas in Business Management.
Rivera resides in Lima with his wife and two children.
