EDUARDO GONZALEZ
President
Nextel Chile
Eduardo Gonzalez is President of Nextel Chile since 2000. As the first official employee of the Chile office, he was responsible for overseeing the due diligence proceedings and acquisitions of various Chilean companies with the necessary radio-electric spectrum to enable Nextel to operate within the iDEN network. Additionally, Gonzalez spearheaded the recruitment of the operation's executive management team. In 2006, he launched Nextel’s digital service after the company won all legal and regulatory claims resulting from a lengthy dispute with other mobile operators in Chile’s courts.
Prior to joining Nextel, Gonzalez worked at Motorola for three years. There, he held various management positions in the infrastructure and devices areas. He began his career in the United States and later moved to Chile. Previously, Gonzalez worked with numerous companies in the commercial and technical sectors of Chile.
Gonzalez has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Escuela Politécnica Nacional del Ecuador, a master's in business administration from IEDE Spanish business school, and a post-graduate degree in management and financial strategies from the University of Chile.
Gonzalez currently resides in Chile.
